Monitoring of Osmotic Swelling Induced Filling Degree Changes in WOW Double Emulsions Using Raman Technologies

چکیده

Due to their nested structure, double emulsions have the potential encapsulate value-adding substances until application, making them of interest various industries. However, complex, structure negatively affects stability emulsions. Still, there is a lack suitable measurement technology fundamentally understand cause instability mechanisms taking place. This study presents novel method continuously track filling degree changes due water diffusion in water-in-oil-in-water (W1/O/W2) emulsion droplet. The based on Raman effect and provides both photometric spectrometric data. No sample preparation required, does not affect

Permeability changes associated with osmotic swelling of bacterial protoplasts.

Bacterial protoplasts, released from confinement within the rigid wall of whole cells, imbibe water, swell, and burst unless their suspending medium contains high concentrations of solutes which have difficulty crossing the osmotic barrier in the protoplast surface membrane (C. Weibull, Exptl. Cell Res. 9:139, 1955; P. Mitchell and J. Moyle, J. Gen. Microbiol. 20:434, 1959). Hence, protoplast p...

Monitoring guanidinium-induced structural changes in ribonuclease proteins using Raman spectroscopy and 2D correlation analysis.

Assessing the stability of proteins by comparing their unfolding profiles is a very important characterization and quality control step for any biopharmaceutical, and this is usually measured by fluorescence spectroscopy. In this paper we propose Raman spectroscopy as a rapid, noninvasive alternative analytical method and we shall show this has enhanced sensitivity and can therefore reveal very...

Water fluxes and encapsulation efficiency in double emulsions: impact of emulsification and osmotic pressure unbalance.

We study the influence of the emulsification process on encapsulation efficiency of drugs in double water-in-oil-in-water emulsions. Two drugs were used, first vitamin B12 which can be considered as a model drug and secondly a suspension of Cydia pomonella Granulovirus (CpGV), a virus used in organic agriculture to protect fruits against the Carpocapse insect. Encapsulation is measured by class...

MOLD FILLING BEHAVIOR OF DOUBLE GATING SYSTEM IN ALUMINUMLFC PROCESS

The mold-filling behavior in the casting of aluminum alloy (A413) using lost foam casting (LFC) was explored. The effects of gate numbers, type of gating and casting thickness on the filling behavior were evaluated. Although, unlike convectional casting process, the gating system showed little effect onfilling ability, casting thickness created a greater effect on the mold filling. In contrast ...
